Less than a week after the launch of Asternova Centru, our team attended How to Web in Bucharest. For a new fund, the priority is clear: identifying companies whose stage and capital needs align with its investment thesis.
How to Web 2026 brought together over 3,000 participants, including more than 500 founders and 250 investors. Early-stage startups had access to programmes such as Dealflow and Spotlight, while the Investors Summit convened LPs, GPs and angel investors interested in Eastern Europe for a single afternoon.
For Asternova Centru, discussions focused on pre-seed and Seed companies, founders’ plans and co-investment opportunities with other funds active in the region.

Asternova Centru invests between €50,000 and €350,000 in pre-seed and Seed companies in Alba, Brașov, Covasna, Harghita, Mureș and Sibiu.
At How to Web, we looked for teams that had begun validating their product, had their first users or customers and understood what they needed to demonstrate over the next 12–18 months.
A conversation at the conference can be the first point of contact. Where there is a fit, the next steps are company analysis, discussions with the team and due diligence.
For investors: co-investments and follow-on financing
Asternova Centru invests at pre-seed and Seed stages, and developing the portfolio involves working with investors whose mandates complement the fund’s strategy.
