Asternova Vest is a regional venture capital fund with a €37 million target size, investing in technology companies from Timiș, Arad, Hunedoara and Caraș-Severin. We invest €500,000–€4 million at Seed and Series A and target a portfolio of more than 18 companies.
More than €26 million of the target size has been committed by ADR Vest, the fund’s anchor investor, through the West Regional Programme. Asternova Vest is managed by Aster Capital Partners and developed together with Iceberg+ and Venture Booster.
How much does Asternova Vest invest?
Between €500,000 and €4 million at Seed and Series A. The fund structure also allows investment across more than one round, depending on the company and the investment process.
What companies are we looking for?
Technology companies that have moved beyond initial validation. We want to see a product working in the market, customers or other relevant traction, a team capable of execution and an opportunity large enough to support international growth.
Software, artificial intelligence, advanced industry, energy, mobility and health are among the sectors relevant to the mandate. But not exclusive.
Where do we invest?
In companies with relevant activity in Timiș, Arad, Hunedoara and Caraș-Severin, within the fund mandate. The Asternova Vest team operates from Timișoara and actively sources across the region.
Who manages the fund?
Aster Capital Partners manages Asternova Vest. It is an AIFM authorised by the French Autorité des Marchés Financiers since 2002, with eight funds managed, approximately €600 million under management and close to 100 companies financed.
Iceberg+ and Venture Booster contribute access to the regional ecosystem, sourcing, acceleration experience and support for company development.
How do we assess a company?
We start with team, product, market, traction, economics and the plan for the next stage. Where there is a potential fit with the mandate, we continue with discussions and due diligence before a formal investment decision.
Experience helps us recognise potential. Data and due diligence test it.
What happens after investment?
The investment starts the relationship. We stay close to founders and can support preparation for future rounds, investor relationships, commercial partnerships and access to relevant networks.
Our presence increases in difficult quarters. That is often where the value of the relationship between fund and company becomes clearest.
How do we work with other investors?
We want direct relationships with angels, family offices, venture funds and strategic investors following Romania and CEE.
We may invest in the same round or introduce a company to a fund that fits a later stage. Investors interested directly in Asternova Vest can also use the dedicated investor channel for fund information.
