This policy explains how Asternova Vest collects, uses and protects your personal data when you visit this website or get in touch with us, in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Who we are
Asternova Vest is a regional venture capital fund backing technology founders in Romania’s Western region, managed under a French AIFM (Aster Capital, Paris). For the purposes of GDPR, Asternova Vest acts as the data controller for the personal data described here.

What we collect
Information you give us. When you use our forms (For start-ups or For Investors) or email us, we collect the details you provide: name, email, phone, company name and website, stage, your message, and any pitch deck or documents you upload.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting collects basic technical log data (such as IP address, browser and device type, and pages viewed) needed to deliver and secure the site.
Cookies and similar technologies. See the “Cookies” section below.
Why we use your data
To review and respond to start-up applications and investor enquiries; to communicate with you and manage our relationship; to operate, secure and improve the website; and to meet our legal, regulatory and compliance obligations (including, where relevant, AIFMD and anti-money-laundering requirements).
Legal basis
We process your data on one or more of the following grounds: your consent; our legitimate interests in assessing opportunities and running the fund; steps taken at your request before or under a contract; and compliance with a legal obligation.
Who we share it with
On a need-to-know basis, we may share your data with our consortium partners (Aster Capital, Iceberg+ and Venture Booster) and with ADR Vest as the fund’s public anchor, in order to evaluate opportunities and run the fund.
We also use trusted service providers acting as our processors: Tally (tally.so) for our embedded forms, and Netlify for website hosting. We may share data with our professional advisors, or with authorities where required by law. We do not sell your personal data.
International transfers
Your data is processed primarily within the European Union. Where a provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep application and pitch materials for up to two (2) years so we can consider future opportunities, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Other data is kept only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law.
Your rights
Under GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or port your data, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw your consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Romanian Data Protection Authority (ANSPDCP, dataprotection.ro).

Cookies
We keep cookies to a minimum and use them only where needed.
Hosting & analytics. The site is hosted on Netlify. We use Netlify’s built-in, privacy-friendly web analytics, which is measured server-side, is aggregated, and does not use cookies or collect personal data.
Forms (Tally). Our application and contact forms are embedded from Tally (tally.so), on the For start-ups and For Investors pages. When you interact with a form, Tally may set its own cookies to operate the form and prevent spam. See Tally’s own privacy policy for details.
Fonts. We load typefaces from Google Fonts, which involves a request to Google’s servers but sets no cookies.
You can control or block cookies through your browser settings; blocking some may affect how the forms work.
Security
We take commercially reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss or misuse.
Children
This website and the fund are not directed to children under the age of 16.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top reflects the most recent version.
